TKE (Australia) completed distinctive healthcare project in Sydney
TKE (Australia) has completed the elevator installation at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, a specialist cancer treatment and research centre located within the RPA (Royal Prince Alfred) Hospital precinct in Sydney.
The 7 units of TE-Evolution machineroom-less elevators supplied and installed by TKEA in this recently opened 13-storey, state-of-the-art medical facility include four elevators with DSC control and three units with seamless glass car design.
Named after the late Professor Chris O’Brien, who inspired people through his work as a cancer specialist and through his own three-year battle with an aggressive brain tumour, the Lifehouse offers advanced medical treatment and complementary therapies with a holistic patient-centric model of care and support. It has 96 inpatient beds, eight operating suites and procedure rooms, as well as 18 intensive care and high dependency beds.
In recent years, TKE has won a significant share of the hospital and healthcare projects in Australia, which can be attributed to thyssenkrupp’s flexibility in accommodating the requirements for larger lift cars, non-standard dimensions, special designs as well as the customer-centric solutions and service provided by TKEA staff.
